Maintenance Lead Technician-Plastics industry
- Supervision: Overseeing and managing a team of maintenance technicians responsible for the upkeep of plastic manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues with plastic processing machinery and equipment, including extruders, injection molding machines, and other automated systems.
- Repair and Maintenance: Performing preventative maintenance and repairs on plastic manufacturing equipment, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical and electronic controls, and mechanical systems.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including work orders, inventory control, and equipment history.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards, including OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Training and Development: Developing training programs for new maintenance technicians and keeping current employees up to date on changes to machinery, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Communication: Liaising with production managers and other departments to schedule maintenance activities and communicating with external vendors and suppliers to order parts and supplies.
- Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement in the maintenance process, including equipment upgrades, process improvements, and cost-saving measures.
Qualifications:
- 5yrs+ experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems with the ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment and systems.
- 3yrs+ experience in leading and managing a team of maintenance technicians.
- 5yrs+ of plastic manufacturing experience; Injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion experience preferred-Other similar operations being considered.
- 5yrs+ experience troubleshooting PLC’s and sensors.
- Knowledge and understanding of electrical control drawings and mechanical drawings.
- Safety and Compliance: Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and other safety protocols.
- Bachelor’s degree degree or equivalent on-target experience required.
