Combined Seasonal Event Manager & Build Manager Job Description
Wonder Entertainment seeks a Site Manager to oversee the Christmas in Color project in its entirety. This role will be responsible for managing the setup, operation, and teardown of the mega interactive drive-thru light show display for Christmas in Color (location TBD).
Primary Responsibilities: You will have a Build Lead and an Event Lead to help you accomplish these goals
- Event Management:
- Lead and direct an event crew of 10-15 team members for Christmas in Color.
- Ensure all on-site operations are executed safely and efficiently, providing guests with a positive experience.
- Hire, train, and schedule event staff according to staffing plans.
- Maintain high standards of safety, guest service, efficiency, and appearance.
- Work under pressure to make sound decisions, execute emergency action plans, and manage evacuation procedures if necessary.
- Act as the liaison between the Director of Experience and venue regarding site issues, incidents, and staff experience.
- Handle guest issues and ensure seamless communication with the Guest Relations Team.
- Build Management:
- Lead the setup, maintenance, and teardown of the Christmas in Color drive-thru light show.
- Coordinate with support teams to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Lay out construction sites, manage timecards, and communicate daily progress reports.
- Oversee loading, unloading, and movement of materials and equipment.
- Operate power tools and machinery as necessary.
- Build and dismantle temporary structures safely and efficiently.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage financial aspects including budget tracking, cost control, labor forecasting, and payroll.
- Conduct onboarding paperwork for on-site employees.
- Complete schedules for hourly event staff weekly.
- Update daily reports, inspection checklists, and other critical documents.
- Conduct safety and guest service training for event staff.
Experience & Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of experience in project management, or related fields.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical capability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in using personal electronic devices for administrative tasks.
- Experience with outdoor event management and working in varying weather conditions.
