GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION: Under the supervision of the Executive Director develops an on-going program of activities for our residents with dementia. Takes the lead in scheduled activities for the residents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Leads resident scheduled activities; Consults and works with other departments in implementing appropriate activities as they relate to the physical, emotional and social needs of the individual residents. Assists with and supports as needed Community volunteers, Scheduled Entertainers, Resident visitors, and other Employees.
MINIMUM TRAINING EXPERIENCE: High school education; one year prior Activities experience in senior care community setting is required.
CERTIFICATION AND CLEARANCE AND REQUIREMENTS: Criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption, as required by law. Health evaluation to ensure ability to perform duties. Current CPR and First Aid certification required.
LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION: Ability to communicate effectively with residents, co-workers, and the general public verbally and in writing.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY: Must be able to work effectively in a senior care community environment.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $21.64 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 30 per week
