Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a smooth workflow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in catering/ restaurant / food service management, exceptional culinary skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food production
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in proper cooking techniques and safety procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
- Assist with special events and catering functions as required
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food production specific to catering
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of shift management and ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Bartending experience is a plus
- Culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required
