Title: Patient Service Coordinator
About the Role
Our healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Service Coordinator to join our team. You will play a key role in ensuring a positive patient experience by providing exceptional customer service and administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments, manage the appointment calendar, and answer pre-visit questions.
- Verify patient insurance information and eligibility.
- Greet patients upon arrival, register them for their appointments, and collect co-pays or deductibles.
- Update and maintain patient demographic and insurance information in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist patients with completing paperwork and understanding their upcoming procedures.
- Direct patients to appropriate waiting areas and ensure timely rooming.
- Communicate effectively with patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and provide discharge instructions as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and filing systems.
- Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service or healthcare administrative role (preferred).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
- Familiarity with medical terminology (a plus).
