Summary of Duties:
Under general supervision, the GEAR UP Office Assistant will perform a variety of complex clerical and administrative support duties in support of the GEAR UP Department. Primary responsibilities include processing PRs for GEAR UP grants and providing general GEAR UP administrative office support. Significant knowledge of GEAR UP and University rules, policies, and procedures will be required for completion of tasks and the ability to provide information to clients. Position requires frequent contact with clients, the public, university staff, faculty, and students.
Required Qualifications:

High School graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Demonstrated knowledge and or experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook; Google Workspace; Adobe products; and the internet.

Demonstrated knowledge and or experience preparing, proofing and/or editing communication materials such as brochures, newsletters and marketing publications
-
Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, pay attention to detail and be proactive.

Demonstrated excellent customer service, organizational, and time management skills.
-
Creating and implementing solutions to day to day operational challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Two (2) years of full-time experience include office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, and/or general administrative work.

Experience providing administrative support to a grant funded program
-
Experience with coordinating travel arrangements for employees
-
Excellent editing/proofreading and data entry skills
-
Experience working with marketing design platforms such as Canva or Creative Cloud.

Experience with Washington State University business policies and procedures and/or federal grant regulations, such as the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), High School Equivalency Program, 21st Century, or similar grant programs

Monthly Salary: $2,940.00 - $3,883.00 | Range 34 Steps A - M
Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
