Podcast Editor/Technician Requirements
We are Nickel and Dime Production LLC. We are looking for people experienced with audio, video or both to run industry-standard software and hardware for recording and producing podcasts and live streams who also have a skill set of managing a business and/or growing a into the Film/Podcasting Industry. We are seeking a candidate who can operate a soundboard, set up mics and other equipment need for the day of filming/podcasting. Be able to travel to onsite locations. Be able to coordinate and handle podcast audio editing and high-quality performance with all aspects of audio editing. The Ability to communicate according and effectively to the Director and the Host is a must.
Location: Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Bronx Area
Work with the director and host to plan and produce episodes.
Track major tech, business, and political stories and work with the director to pitch and help determine editorial coverage.
Work on all aspects of audio production, including prepping, recording and assembling cuts for one episode per month. You will also need to clean to be able to fine-tune raw audio.
Work closely with director to sharpen and integrate notes in these preps and to shape the overall episodes.
Fact checks episodes, including live fact checks during taping and post-production fact-checking which will also entail addressing edits in tape.
Manage and maintain your schedule with the production calendar for each episode.
Collaborate with the host, director and team to brainstorm new ideas for coverage, segments and initiatives to grow the podcast/show.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments while under deadline pressure.
Some equipment maybe required. (Upon hiring, we will go over all the equipment currently available, please let use know what equipment you intend to bring to the table)
Experience with sound editing apps (Audition, ProTools, Logic, iZotope)
Experience with digital mixing sound desks (Yamaha, Allen&Heath, Presonus, Soundcraft, Midas)

Must be able to travel onsite to film/podcast location. (Gas expenses will be compensated upon proof of receipt)
Must have degree and experience requirements, but a degree may not be necessary if you have experience, we will ask upon interview to show some of your work samples.
Things to take into consideration while being a Podcast editor/Technician/Camera Operation.
Add an intro & outro to your podcast (intro/outro provided by you)
Assemble and edit your podcast from beginning to end
Adjust audio levels and make hosts/guests consistent throughout the podcast
Edit out pauses & gaps in the audio or conversation
Remove excessively loud breaths (Only if it’s very noticeable)
Reduce room echo (the amount of reduction depends on the severity of the echo/issue)
Reduce excessive noise i.e.: background buzz, hiss, hum, or distracting room noise. Note that there are some things that can’t be removed.
