The Tractor-Trailer Driver will safely and efficiently deliver finished goods, products, equipment, and materials to customers in a timely and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates a semi-truck (including manual transmissions) and other vehicles, as needed, according to applicable state and federal transportation laws.
- Transports loads safely and in a timely manner over required route, obeying all traffic laws and observing all safety regulations.
- Deftly maneuvers truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas; follows loading crew signals.
- Assists with loading of or loads and unloads goods and materials, using specialized equipment when warranted; unloads empty skids and returns all equipment to designated area.
- Maintains signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to shipping office or other appropriate staff when delivery route is complete.
- Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to Logistics Manager.
- Arranges trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.
- Experience using electronic log operation and driver record keeping.
- Knowledge of proper vehicle maintenance.
- Able to work a varied schedule including nights, evenings, and weekends.
- Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform related duties and responsibilities of this job including occasional lifting up to and over 50 lbs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Must hold required commercial driver’s license appropriate for weight of vehicle to be operated.
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) years of commercial driving experience driving Tractor Trailers.
- Ability to drive multiple type vehicles. (Experience with Box Trucks, Flatbeds, and 53’ Vans)
- Pre-hire MVR required at time of interview.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time. Must be able to travel frequently. The employee is regularly required to use hands, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand; bend; stretch; kneel; squat; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to verbally effectively communicate with staff and vendors. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stay alert and attentive at all times and operate a computer, phone and essential equipment as required. The employee must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
