As a member of GC Associates supporting our customer base, the Sr. Network Engineer will serve as the technical lead for the Day-to-day responsibility for providing subject matter expertise and insight on network engineering throughout the contract period. The individual will lead up the networking efforts supporting daily maintenance tasks, recommending updates/changes to the current environment and lead efforts for modernization different networks. The candidate must be comfortable working at a fast pace and capable of managing day to day operational requirements as well as strong note taking, documentation, and customer service skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Delivering an exceptional customer experience.
· Design, implementation, assessment and support of complex networks.
· Proactively identify, diagnose, analyze and troubleshoot the issues on customer networks.
· Taking over escalated issues from L1s in a timely manner & and working with various stakeholders such as customers/engineering to arrive at a swift resolution.
· Give constructive feedback on the process and the tools to improvise the same.
· Research alternative solutions or workarounds.
· Design, implement, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and performance tune the network infrastructure based on program requirements.
· Ensure network security implementation, STIGs, and security protocols are followed in accordance with program requirements as well as scalability and capacity planning
· Perform installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Cisco Data center assets
· Effectively work independently and in a team environment
QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):
· 10+ years of hands on experience with network design and implementation
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent oral presentation skills and ability to present in front of small/large audiences
· Strong MS Office skills in using and developing documents, technical diagrams, spreadsheets, and presentations are required
· Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize on various projects and committed in meeting target deadlines
· Strong attention to detail is a must
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, electrical engineering, information technology, or equivalent technology required
· Experience in technical architecture design, implementation and project management
· Experience with diagraming tools such as Visio for demonstrating engineering designs
· Experience with operating system security models/mechanisms
· Experience conducting/directing penetration testing and security audits and related documentation
· Experience with Cisco UCS/ACI infrastructure, NXOS, IOS, ASA Firewalls
· Experience with UCS Manager, Cisco Command Line Interface, Solarwinds
· Experience troubleshooting, monitoring, implementing, and maintaining IPv4/IPv6 networks
· Experience with Agile practices
· Ability to thrive in a self-directed, fast-paced environment, that is highly collaborative and multi-functional
· Deep understanding of the latest technologies, security issues, and protocols associated with WAN/CAN design
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
· Travel may be required based on project requirements.
