Title: Employment Services Counselor
Reports to: Program Director, HWWP
Status: Full-Time
Work Schedule: 9 AM-5 PM, M-F
Salary: $58,349.60 per year
JOB SUMMARY
This role requires evenings as necessary role requires an energetic person who enjoys interacting with many people (clients, volunteers, partners, foundations, etc.) on a day-to-day basis. The goal of this role is to aid in providing formerly incarcerated participants with the necessary tools to find productive employment and (re)enter the workforce. This includes identifying and recruiting employers who hire formerly-incarcerated-and-justice involved-participants. The role also includes-· working directly with participants to coach and send them out on interviews and provide follow-up. Also responsible for serving as a representative and advocate for Hour Working Women Program (HWWP) at third-party meetings and employer recruitment events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day administration and operations of HWWP
- Facilitate core job readiness workshops, "including resume preparation and job searching, peer support groups, enrichment activities, and skills building
- Create and customize participants' resumes to fit identified opportunities
- Manage a caseload of participants, support and coach them around applying for jobs, navigating the hiring process, and finding and securing right fit employment
- Create group facilitation curriculum and handouts, and ensure all written material is on hand for daily groups
- Create and continuously develop a list of employers who will interview and/or hire HWWP participants
- Screen and match program participants with employment opportunities, taking into consideration each participant's skills, work experience, interests, and aspirations
- Conduct outreach and attend re-entry and networking events as assigned by the Supervisor (note: this requires flexibility to work evening hours as needed)
- Assist in planning and overseeing special events at HWWP
- Record data on performance targets in a timely, accurate, and detailed manner
- Report progress of participants to Employment Services Coordinator for monthly KPl's (Key Performance Indicators)
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor
