Position Overview: ChoicePoint is seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our mission to support individuals struggling with addiction by providing education, guidance, and assistance in accessing treatment services. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage directly with individuals affected by addiction within the community.
- Provide education on available treatment options, recovery resources, and support services.
- Build rapport and establish trust with clients to encourage engagement in treatment.
- Assist clients in navigating the healthcare system and accessing appropriate services.
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care.
- Conduct outreach activities in high drug use zones, community events, and other relevant settings.
- Travel to various locations as needed to connect with individuals in need of support.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist required.
- Personal experience with addiction and recovery preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic and nonjudgmental approach to supporting individuals in recovery.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with community resources and support networks.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality.
