SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES :
This class is responsible for supervising CCR associates as well as developing and implementing community outreach programs, maintaining positive relationships with community members, stakeholders, and organizations, and representing the company or organization at various community events. The Community Relations Manager works closely with internal teams to ensure alignment with corporate values and community interests under the general direction of the Director of Communications and Community Relations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Community Outreach:
- Develop and implement community outreach programs to enhance the organization's reputation and foster positive community relationships.
- Identify opportunities for community engagement and partnership building.
- Develop internal processes to manage our external presence across the company.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Maintain regular communication with community stakeholders, including local government officials, community leaders, and organizations.
- Attend community meetings, events, and forums to represent the organization's interests and gather feedback.
Event Planning and Management:
- Organize and coordinate community events, workshops, and seminars.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure successful event execution.
Public Relations:
- Develop and distribute press releases, newsletters, and other communication materials to promote the organization's initiatives and achievements.
- Manage media relations and serve as the organization's spokesperson when necessary.
Internal Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and corporate social responsibility, to align community relations activities with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance and support to team members involved in community-related initiatives.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Track and measure the effectiveness of community relations programs and initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
- Report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
EQUIPMENT OPERATED : Computer, calculator, communication equipment, and other equipment, as required.

· Ability to work nights, weekends, and on call as needed.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information ethically and responsibly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant communications software applications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation from a four (4) year accredited university/college or technical school with a degree/certification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience and an additional three (3) years of managerial/supervisory experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Must possess and maintain a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
SAFETY HAZARDS : Minimal.
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT : As required in the Public Works Commission’s Safety Manual.
