The Department of Medicine is looking to hire a Staff Research Associate I. The Division of Cardiology studies how the autonomic nervous system regulates the heart, focusing on its role in heart failure and arrhythmias. Our research involves neural control of the heart in small animals using advanced techniques in cardiac electrophysiology and neuroscience. Experiments include surgical dissection in murine models, obtaining hemodynamic, cardiac electrophysiological, and neural data, and molecular biological analysis of tissues. Under the supervision of the PI, the employee will assist with immunohistochemical staining and sample collection from animal experiments, using techniques such as tissue processing, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, microscopy, and data analysis. Proficiency in software like MATLAB, SCIRun, Gmsh, Paraview, Meshlab, Corview, Seg3D, CARPentry, SolidWorks, or Fusion360 is beneficial. Stellar undergraduate grades are required.
