LOCATION - Hybrid: Kansas City, MO

ABOUT THE JOB
The Tepa Companies are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Midwest Construction Team. As a Senior Project Manager, you will own and manage all aspects of projects to include client relationships, schedules, budgets, and profitability through comprehensive project completion. You will collaborate with Superintendents, Quality Control Managers, and Site Safety Officers to ensure contractual requirements are met and exceeded. The Senior Project Manager works with and trains other Project Managers to ensure their wealth of knowledge is shared and utilized throughout all projects.
Job Functions:

Ensure Tepa Core Values are being practiced by all Tepa staff.

Serves as a leader and mentor to other Construction Project Managers in the Midwest Region.

Prepares cost estimates for bids and change orders.

Establishes a budget within 10 days of award Bid review, drawing review and on-site construction management.

Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Manages team of Superintendents, Quality Control Managers,

Manages every aspect of the development process including consultants, subcontractors, vendors, specialty contractors, and self-perform crews.

Manages each phase of the project including entitlement, design-build, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, billing, and project close out.

Coordinate with quality control staff on compliance with project specifications.

Performs budget development, revenue forecasting and management.

Manages Project Management Software (Procore) for change orders, meetings, drawings, submittals, RFIs, etc…

Evaluates superintendents and QCs.

Conducts pre-qualification and procurement activities (buyout) of subcontractors.

Prepares Subcontracts, Professional Service Agreements, and Purshase Orders.

Plans, schedules, and manages project timelines to see all deadlines are met.

Assists with the creation of cost loaded project schedules or Primavera.

Verifies Superintendent’s 3-Week Look Ahead Schedule.

Updates and maintains budget project updates with report bi-weekly to Region EVP.

Performs cost and risk analysis and provides recommendations to management.

Maintains open communication with field staff regarding all issues and work to resolutions.

Has decision making authority at project level as designated by General Manager.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Bachelor’s degree in construction, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
-
Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience specific to working on US Government Projects (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, GSA, Etc.)

5+ years of construction project management experience in new and vertical construction

Design-build construction experience as a Project Manager is preferred

Capability of running multiple projects simultaneously

Ability and desire to build rapport with field staff, office staff, clientele, Tepa management staff, subcontractors

Proven experience establishing and maintaining effective project management control systems in compliance with contract requirements on USACE and other projects including field experience providing oversight on construction site work activities

Must be able to obtain base pass and pass a Federal background check

Ability to manage time efficiently

Must possess ability to communicate in a professional manner both verbally and in writing

Good understanding of administrative and management principles involved in project planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources to assist in quality control management
