Full Job Description

Join our St. Louis, Missouri hybrid team at National Association of Electrical Distributors, a leading organization dedicated to fostering professional development and networking opportunities within the industry. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for the NAED Education and Research Foundation that will work directly with the departments of Industry Intelligence & Benchmarking and the Digital Center of Excellence to facilitate the completion of research projects, industry studies, member resources, and news. The successful candidate will see that projects conducted by outside vendors and those initiated by internal stakeholders are completed on time, on budget and within scope by working with Directors to set deadlines, monitor progress, and summarize project results. The role includes working directly with NAED members to determine research efforts, collect feedback, and present findings in compelling ways, as well as preparing reports and presenting findings to upper management on projects' statuses.

General Responsibilities:

Plan, execute, and manage projects and initiatives of the Industry Intelligence & Benchmarking department and Digital Center of Excellence, ensuring timely delivery and on budget. Manage multiple projects and initiatives at the industry level at same time.
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, while maintaining a keen focus on project outcome.
Manage and develop marketing content, website updates, and coordinate with internal staff so that project information is released in a timely and efficient manner.
Provide assistance in the collection of qualitative and quantitative information; includes survey design, data analysis, and conducting interviews and focus groups when needed.
Maintain quality notes on projects progress, updates on projects to team, and ensure milestones are met.
Ability to handle solutioning towards business outcome on a project is a leap objective; continuous improvement mindset.

Specific Industry Intelligence & Research Responsibilities:

Manage research projects, benchmarking studies, and related content published by the NAED and the NAED Foundation.
Conduct preliminary research to refine scope and larger research questions ahead of projects and meetings; research and track potential research firms to possibly assist with various research topics.
Draft and evaluate RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs for outside firms as result of guidance and input from NAED Foundation Board, NAED Board, and other volunteer leaders.
Plan and coordinate outreach to members, vendors, outside organizations, and research committees or task force during projects; serve as a liaison to research groups; schedule and coordinate meetings with group to guide research and outcomes.
Review research materials, provide feedback, and help finalize results for publication; work with outside vendors to design and share reports as needed.

Specific DCoE Responsibilities:

Identify and capture supply chain business process and technology elements from conversations and discussions and represent it as process mapping in tools like Microsoft Visio.
Utilize web-enabled Project Management/Workflow management software to track initiative and be a gentle task master for participants in senior leadership and roles at industry member organizations.
Visualize solution design and contribute to strategic thinking around supply chain management and catalyzing digital technologies.
Provide relevant and thoughtful responses relative to the conversation and setting, with leadership, and in public forums.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree required and more than five years in the field or related area.
Experience in conducting research projects that incorporate quantitative, qualitative, and original research effort.
Proven experience in project management and a strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
Superior ability to gather and synthesize primary and secondary data and information.
Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills; must be able to convey relevant responses, updates, and issues with audience in mind.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines; highly detail-oriented, organized, and efficient.
Ability to work with many different personalities and build quality relationships with staff and association members.
Be able to present complex concepts, data analysis, and innovative ideas in straightforward and compelling ways.
Familiarity with technology and curiosity to learn more.
Knowledge and experience with Web research tools and online project management/workflow to track progress.
Creative mindset
Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and survey design/analysis
A strong team orientation, be proactive and professional.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
Electrical industry experience is a plus (distributor, contractor, supplier, or rep agency)

Other Duties:

Perform day-to-day management of projects and address any issues promptly; escalate complex issues to management.
Help to coordinate meetings and prepare materials related to task forces, Board meetings and others that may be suggested.
Help foster collaborative partnerships with industry organizations.
Think critically and share ideas in a straightforward, accessible manner.
Present a professional image at all times to members and vendors.
Follow company policies and procedures.
