Roles and Responsibilities:
· Develop/execute test plans, verification and or acceptance test procedures, development of scripts (preferably Python) as well as utilization/configuration of test equipment and tools such as GPS simulators to verify system requirements and prove compliance
· Fundamental understanding of CMMI and CORE processes are preferred
· The successful engineer will need to be able to document clearly, follow company engineering processes, have a strong foundation in Systems Engineering and uphold the principles of SE and have basic knowledge and able to learn GPS receiver functionality and expected performance in short order
· This SE will be collaborating with team members in establishing the test equipment suite required for program test execution
· Contribute to technical interchange meetings
· Provides verbal and written status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks
· Ability to multitask and meet challenging schedule milestones is a must
· Past work experience interacting with multidisciplinary teams of system design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers
· Strong communication skills is an essential ingredient along with effective written, verbal, and listening skill
· The successful candidate has 4-5 years of hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment with a variety of test equipment and simulators
Qualifications:
· Experience in RF/IR signal processing, electronics, navigation (GPS or Inertial), missile autopilots, modeling, and simulation (for example 6-DOF), aerodynamics, missile related mechanical engineering (flight control systems, warheads, missile structures, seeker gimbals, RF/IR seeker sub-systems
· Understanding of guidance and navigation systems and relevant experience with GPS Receiver system design, integration, test, verification, and validation
· Experience with Test Equipment/Tools, Technical Reviews and Production Readiness
· Have familiarity in sub system or systems architecting and system-of-systems definition
· Familiar with and have used industry military standards and is able to follow them per system specification and customer reqs.
· Must be able to write clear engineering documentation
· Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance or Higher REQUIRED
· Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date
· U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications Raytheon Prefers
· Working/hands-on knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
· Working knowledge of SE fundamentals with ability to work with all engineering disciplines and program management
· Familiarity with EVMS, ETCs, and ECPs
· Ability to visualize system functionality, to create block diagrams, and to analyze system performance via analysis of customer requirements specification
· Working knowledge of industry standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, for airworthiness, ARINC and RTCA standards are preferred
· System, Software, and hardware Requirements management/traceability/allocation
· Background/education in RF signal processing
· Experience with commercial test equipment (e.g. DMM, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Logic Analyzer
· Work in a Development, System Test and Sell-off, involving Hardware/Software
