Overview:
Systems Integrator for Industrial Rigging Service of Central Texas
A systems integrator(s) primary responsibility is the preservation of any site control systems for automating manufacturing processes and wrapping systems. They are accountable to ensure delivery and support for all Factory Controls & IT related Systems, following applicable individual company standards. Additionally, they will help execute the strategy for Factory Controls & IT Asset Health Check Programs.
The systems integrator is also responsible for the efficient, safe, and reliable operating condition of site manufacturing control and electrical systems. The integrator must be multi-skilled to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot multiple site electrical power systems, instrumentation, motor controls, PLC, HMI, data systems, and factory control infrastructure (servers, PC?s, and networks).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide support during machine installations and upgrades including: interfacing auxiliary equipment, identifying and correcting errors in programming and wiring and ensuring vendors and contractors are meeting our needs and expectations.
- Maintains and repairs electronic instrumentation and equipment to provide reliable, well maintained equipment to ensure service quality.
- Physically setting up and maintaining electronics, instruments, automation, and measurement equipment.
- Troubleshooting all electronic and data acquisition equipment; Adjust, repair or replace faulty components.
- Calibrating pressure gauges and meter measurement equipment.
- May perform programming and troubleshooting operations on computers and terminal data acquisition equipment.
- Troubleshoot and program automated facility control equipment, calibrate required safety devices, manipulate facility valves to receive the desired operating status.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose problems and repair plant mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret planning documents, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, drawings, manuals, blueprints and engineering sketches.
- Perform layout and wiring of electrical panels.
- Identify and recommend changes to improve plant performance utilizing existing or new control systems; make program modifications in PLC?s logic, HMI?s programs and servo controller logic to improve equipment performance.
- Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g. multi-meter, laptop).
- Performs field calibrations using multi-meters to test pH, conductivity, flow, pressure, humidity, RTD, thermocouple, and other levels as needed.
- Ability to work in a team environment, record data in a computer system, communicate with multiple departments, and complete work orders and preventative maintenance on equipment indoors and outdoors.
- Performs quality checks according to procedure and repairs equipment in a timely manner.
- Responsible to maintain proper records. This position may be required to participate in emergency response activities as necessary.
- Participate in the safety programs and/or committees; follow all site safety policies, company policies and procedures work safely and wear appropriate PPE.
- Responsible for assisting other technicians with maintenance and repair duties; including training co-workers on the safe and efficient techniques to maintain electrical system operations and equipment.
- Handle time accounting and complete work orders.
- Maintaining a tidy work environment and adhering to industry regulations.
- Obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits or certifications as required.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Qualifications
- 2-year experience with any or all (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation).
- Any Factory Controls & IT experience will be considered, including production system troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Possess or is able to obtain Operational Electrical Qualification Certificate (must be able to work independently on live electrical panels).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
- Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 (or older) knowledge.
- Virtual Infrastructure Administration knowledge.
- Cisco Equipment Architecture knowledge (Switches, Subnets, VLans).
- Factory IT / Cybersecurity knowledge.
- Database Administration knowledge.
- SQL, Aveva Insight, & VBA Knowledge.
- License Management.

- Demonstrate the ability to analyze, design, program, and test applications for Factory Control & IT systems.
- Good understanding of Operating Systems environments including Microsoft Windows PC and Server Operating systems, Active Directory, other Microsoft technologies, and thin-client technologies.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks PDM.
- Ability to work well with user departments to provide the operational support in the use of HMI terminals, including thin client, and other software applications on Control Systems.
- Must be able to ascertain - through interaction with production and engineering staff representatives - the requirements for process control computer applications.
- Knowledge of databases such as Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server, and database connectivity using ODBC and Wonderware, Rockwell, Siemens, or equivalent automation software.
- Knowledge of web application development including basic web design, web connectivity, and database access.
- Understanding of networks including, but not limited to, Modbus +, Ethernet, Devicenet, and/or Profibus.
- Ability to troubleshoot programs residing in, but not limited to, Modicon, Siemens, and/or Rockwell Automation PLC Control Systems in the plant.
- Good understanding of interfacing with PLC's, scales, display devices, and any other controls-related devices.
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Owner of specific integration projects surrounding Factory Controls & IT Infrastructure in a variety of different manufacturing plants.
- Contributor to the building of an automation roadmap strategy.
- Accountable for Cyber Security Compliance.
- Accountable for Implementation of Factory Controls & IT Projects
- Secondary Point of Contact for Operations, IE’s, and Engineering Teams responsible for delivery of Factory Controls & IT Initiatives.
- Supervise the work activities of outside contractors, controls technicians, and other associates with the installation of instrumentation, PLC based control systems, and PC based operator interfaces.
- Execute to KPI’s related to Factory Controls & IT infrastructure, Services and Solutions to include Performance, Availability and Functionality Metrics.
- Interact with Maintenance Department to solve/define Improvements.
- Accountable for problem resolution for all Factory Controls & IT infrastructure.
- Ensure Operations on factory premises for Factory Controls & IT Systems.
- Oversee/Execute Engineering Projects by overseeing the design of control systems utilizing standardized design methodologies including Sequential Function Charts, Data Flow Diagrams and SAMA Diagrams.
- Support the development and design of new computer applications by preparing system flowcharts, report and screen layouts, source documents, and detailed specifications.
- Prepare job aids, user documentation, systems documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for plant automation systems.
- Act as technical resource to site on controls related issues including troubleshooting, analysis and recommending practical corrective actions for control related problems.
- Identify opportunities and recommend changes to improve plant performance.
- Use and follow all engineering standards when implementing projects.
- Provide input into site engineering standards for programming and systems design.
- Gather data and analyze information requirements in preparation for the design of Level I, Level II, Level III, and Factory IT control systems.
- Assist in performing programming, testing, and debugging for new systems as well as for the enhancement of existing systems.
- Modify and/or develop systems including, but not limited to, Wonderware, Rockwell, Siemens, Iconics, and Traksys applications to support engineering projects.
- Support the introduction to the plant with new control technologies for Level I, Level II, Level III, and Factory IT control systems.
- Support the system management and administrative functions for PC and PLC networks, data historians, software version control and web-based data display systems. This includes maintenance, enhancements, procedures development, and troubleshooting.
- Specify/recommend Factory Controls & IT Components.
- Recognize current phase of lifecycle for each Infrastructure Solution and Service and prepare appropriate action plan
- Support all topics related to Factory Controls & IT Infrastructure.
- Provide the communication and marketing of Factory Controls & IT Infrastructure Solution and Services to engineering, maintenance, and production.
- Expert in Factory Controls & IT, demonstrating clear understanding of the problems and opportunities for business change.
- Constant communication with shift-based production and maintenance teams to understand any breakdown or reliability issues.
- Accountable for effective use of Factory Controls & IT Infrastructure Services which includes providing trainings, guides and raising awareness of available IT tools and services.
- Achieve and maintain a high level of technical competency.
- Train and support non-technical users on the use of plant floor automation systems.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
