JOB TITLE: CCBHC, Peer Services Supervisor

REPORTS TO: CCBHC Director of Peer Services

DEPARTMENT: CCBHC

We believe that in-person services are the best way to serve our clients, both directly and through essential operational support. This position requires in-person attendance with a team at 1 Brooklyn clinic location with some travel in support of the CCBHC Project.

Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Core Services includes:

Crisis mental health services including 24-hour mobile crisis teams, emergency crisis intervention, and crisis stabilization; Screening, assessment, and diagnosis including risk assessment; Patient-Centered treatment planning or similar processes, including risk assessment and crisis planning; Outpatient mental health and substance use services; Outpatient clinic primary care screening and monitoring of key health indicators and health risk; Targeted case management; Psychiatric rehabilitation services; Peer support, counselor services, and family support services; and, Intensive community-based mental health care for members of the armed forces & veterans.

SUMMARY: This person will be responsible for supervising CCBHC Peer services and must work in tandem with the other CCBHC Directors and Supervisors to support the integrated services of behavioral health, substance use treatment, and primary care in a seamless fashion, expanding access to care and improving outcomes through coordinated population health management. Supports the direction and provides supervision of the CCBHC peer staff, including, but not limited to, treatment engagement activities, setting boundaries in client relationships, collaborative team building, documentation of peer activities, and the planning and launch of services. Works with a multidisciplinary team including a director of peer services, substance use director, a mental health director, a health team, and a case management team. Oversees the quality of care for CCBHC Peer services (adults and youth) with administrative and treatment supervision to ensure fidelity to peer services. Responds to and supports service reporting, including, but not limited to, quality reporting and tracking and audits.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Works closely with the CCBHC Director of Peer Services to develop, launch and implement the program Peer adults, youth and family services for mental health as well as substance abuse clients.
Provide strategic direction, supervision and leadership to the Peer services staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Implement and monitor fidelity to policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with CCBHC program requirements and regulations for Peer services.
Oversee the recruitment, training, and supervision for the Peer staff, including but not limited to, relationship building with participants, coaching and mentoring, setting boundaries with participants, how to deal with client risks, sharing of lived experience, WRAP and recovery goal setting, documentation of peer activities, etc.
Supervise and manage the Peer staff to develop and ensure the implementation of peer treatment plans are tailored to individual client needs for a person-centered approach.
Monitor Peer program outcomes and program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to improve client outcomes; problem solve with the Director of Peer Services.
Develop partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to enhance service delivery and access.
Establish, monitor and maintain quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of services.
Ensure compliance with regulations, accreditation standards, and reporting requirements.
Participate in audits and reviews to ensure adherence to program requirements and standards.
Implement agency training plan to improve cultural competency and trauma informed care as they align to program requirements for CCBHC Peer treatment and Agency specific mission.
Ensure CCBHC Peer treatment standards for services are being met and monitor progress with agency goals and objectives for performance improvement with quality indicators and fidelity to the model of core services.
Assists with new program development and program evaluations.
Responsibility to ensure and document partnership/collaboration with community partnerships and collaborations to enhance service delivery and access.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Available to travel/work evening and weekend hours as required by the agency needs.
Work collaboratively with the CCBHC Interdisciplinary Team as well as external agencies and community stakeholders.
Attend all required management and staff meeting and complete all CCBHC and organizational trainings.

EXPERIENCE:

At least 2 years with peer management in a mental health and/or substance abuse clinic.
At least 3 years with supervision responsibilities.
Experience with adults and teens, preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficient with word processing, electronic health records, and electronic communications.
Well organized with strong time management skills.
Basic knowledge regarding entitlements and other concrete benefits and social services.
Enthusiasm and self-motivation regarding identifying client needs and obtaining related resources.
Experience navigating behavioral health systems and substance treatment systems.
Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including being able to maintain a professional temperament with both clients and colleagues.
Able to meet program standards in documenting in client records.
Ability to work with challenging clients.
Comfortable with community outreach and home visits.
Comfortable and competency working with racially, culturally, religiously and ethnically, linguistically, differently abled diverse communities, including but not limited to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities.
Bilingual skill in a language other than English valued.

QUALIFICATIONS:

NYS Certified Peer Specialist (NYCPS)
At least 3 years of supervision/leadership experience
