Position Overview

Teddy Morse’s Daytona Harley-Davidson, part of the Ed Morse Automotive Group, is currently seeking a Front Desk Supervisor at the Clarion Inn at Destination Daytona.

Responsibilities:

Ensure an environment in which high standards of customer service and quality exist for our guests.
Supervise and assist Front Desk Agents with the registration of guests and assignment of rooms. Accommodate special requests whenever possible.
Oversee pre-registration and blocking of rooms for incoming reservations.
Thoroughly understand and enforce proper credit, check-cashing, and cash-handling policies and procedures.
Empower team members to resolve guest-related problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
Maintain an understanding of room status and room status tracking.
Possess a working knowledge of the reservations department. Handle same-day reservations and future reservations when necessary. Know cancellation procedures and guest check-out procedures.
Be knowledgeable about room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates.
Use suggestive selling techniques to sell rooms and promote other hotel services.
Communicate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure the availability of rooms according to the forecast.
Receive information from the previous shift and pass on pertinent details to the oncoming shift.
Post and file all charges to guest, master, and city ledger accounts.
Follow procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes.
Answer the telephone within three rings with a smile, and answer questions accordingly or transfer as needed.
Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the General Manager or the MOD on duty.
Know all safety and emergency procedures and be aware of accident prevention policies.
Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
Understand that business demands may require employees to move from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
Attend department meetings whenever scheduled.
Work closely with all departments within the hotel.
Speak to every employee and guest you come in contact with.
Perform or coordinate other tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
Supervise, train, and support Front Desk Agents to ensure efficient and effective front desk operations.

Qualifications:

Excellent verbal, comprehension, listening and problem solving skills.
Interpersonal and time management skills.
Guest relation skills.
Adaptability.
Understanding of how to use front office equipment.
Sound computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
