Special Education Teacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs, including those with behavioral health challenges, developmental disabilities, and other unique requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in early intervention, preschool, daycare, and classroom settings.
Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Utilize various teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Incorporate technology and adaptive equipment to enhance learning experiences
- Administer standardized testing and interpret results to inform instructional planning
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and behavior
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay current on best practices in special education
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional development
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- State certification in Special Education
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education laws
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies based on individual student needs
- Familiarity with behavioral intervention techniques and positive behavior support strategies
- Experience in private school settings is a plus

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
