Position Summary
The Manager, RNI Operations, is responsible for all aspects of RNI refurbishment process, assembly, supply chain / inventory management, SAP plant configuration, and related continuous improvement programs based on lean and six-sigma principles.
The manager will develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders who support the day-to-day the refurbishment and assembly operation of the RNI program such as supply chain / inventory management, SAP system processes, final assembly, and quality assurance programs. Must be a hands-on manager ready to dive in deep or strategize and guide at a high level to develop the business and the team.
The manager oversees the internal RNI refurbishment and assembly team along with the supply chain team, which also supports the matrixed RNI organization. The manager will ensure that production capacity is available as the RNI program continues to grow and that continuous improvement occurs based on metrics, customer feedback, and internal stakeholder feedback.
Essential Functions and Duties

Provide day-to-day supervision of refurbishment assembly team, supply chain, production area, and warehouse.

Maintain and grow our RNI culture of teamwork, servant leadership, coaching, asking why, and process improvement.

In partnership with IT, Finance, and other key stakeholders, manages the SAP plant setup and configuration.

Manages designated warehouse storage, manufacturing, and assembly space for RNI plant operations.

Ensure the shop has the right materials at the right place at the right time in order to reduce waste and result in 100% customer order fulfillment.

Interface with quality team to ensure that production documentation is complete and accurate.

Drive continuous improvement for all production processes and utilize Lean Manufacturing techniques to optimize operations.

Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity standards, metrics, KPI’s, and performance targets to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

In collaboration with leadership, tracks and takes appropriate action where trends are not positive, or when results are below desired benchmarks/targets.

Guide the supply chain team to prevent material shortages, and optimize supply inventory level.

Develops and manages quality assurance program related to incoming material inspection (IMI) and RNI machine assembly in partnership with FFF QA Director.

Maintain and continue to improve the preventative maintenance (PM) program for all equipment and tools to ensure they are in working condition at all times.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment in the production and warehouse areas through a 5S program in RNI refurbishment and assembly plant.

Enforce company safety standards and fosters a "safety first" culture through training, evaluation, and continual focus.

Ensure the facility and employees comply with federal, state and local EH&S laws and regulations.

Manage production operations with a "hands on" approach on the shop floor, interacting with employees to achieve desired objectives.

Develop, document, create, and manage materials used to support all refurbishment and assembly activities within RNI plant.
- Ensures cross-training and development growth of personnel within your organization.

Sets production schedules based on feedback from Commercial team, Product Management Team, Services Team, FDI Operations Team, and other key stakeholders.

Organizes and prioritizes work in such a way to ensure that customer specific issues are addressed in urgent, expedient, and efficient manner.

Lead by example and create and maintain strong partnerships and positive relationships with company employees and management through open communication, transparency, and performance measurement/feedback.

Responsible for development of SOP’s and ongoing maintenance of SOP’s.

Capable of exercising judgement and making business decisions regarding the expansion of capabilities to support new RNI devices.

Works with multiple cross-functional teams to ensure effective and efficient customer service and that best-practice technical approach is shared and leveraged amongst all team members.

Train employees in process improvement techniques and tools.

Stays abreast of new industry processes and/or techniques that can be leveraged to improve the RNI program.

Continuously strives to improve processes, and service quality to internal and external customers.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Required Education:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a technology or related field of study or four (4) years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Required Knowledge:
-
Basic understanding of how machine controls and middleware interacts with IT solutions.
-
Understanding of work cell concept and Kanban techniques for manufacturing and assembly.
-
Understanding of and experience using Six Sigma and Lean techniques such as 5S, Spaghetti diagrams, root cause investigation tools, Gemba, 8 Muda, etc. to teach, coach, and implement with our team members.

Understanding of setup and utilization of SAP ERP/MRP.
Preferred Knowledge:

Six-sigma green belt certification is preferred.

cGMP knowledge and or experience is a plus.
Required Experience:
-
Must have at least three (3) or more years [seven (7) for non-degreed candidates] experience in assembly of modular electronic / technology components.

Supervisory or Management experience for at least one of the following: light manufacturing, job shop manufacturing, distribution with value added service.
Preferred Experience:

Experience implementing and/or maintaining SAP Manufacturing/ERP software or like ERP system.

Physical requirements
Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for prolonged periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting.
