Position Summary
The Director of Paid Search (Paid Search Specialist) will support our paid media team, leveraging senior-level experience in paid media buying, exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, and a profound understanding of today’s digital ecosystem. This role will take the lead in crafting and orchestrating media strategies, architecting campaign structures, and propelling extensive testing initiatives forward.
Job Responsibilities
- Campaign Management: Oversee and hands-on execution of all aspects of paid search campaigns, focusing on Google Ads, including keyword research, ad creation, bidding strategies, and budget management.
- Strategy Development: Create and implement comprehensive paid search strategies that align with overall business goals and drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.
- Optimization: Continuously optimize campaigns to improve performance, including A/B testing, ad copy adjustments, and landing page optimization.
- Data Analysis: Analyze campaign performance data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement. Generate detailed reports to inform strategy adjustments.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the paid search budget and forecast for designated area of responsibility, to achieve maximum ROI.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively recognize and resolve technical and performance issues related to paid search campaigns.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including creative, client services, media and technology, to ensure cohesive and integrated campaign execution.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring alignment with campaign objectives and goals.
- Compliance: Ensure all paid search activities comply with industry regulations and best practices.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the paid search budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve maximum ROI.
- Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies. Apply this knowledge to keep strategies innovative and effective.
- Additional Projects: Support other marketing projects as needed.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred)
Required Skills
- Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years of proven experience in paid search marketing
- Lead Generation/E-Commerce – Candidates should have extensive experience in either, preferably lead generation.
- Certifications: Candidates should possess industry-standard certifications such as Google Ads Certification and Bing Ads Certification, demonstrating proficiency in managing advertising campaigns on major platforms.
- Campaign Management: Experience in planning and executing paid media campaigns across various channels, including search engines and display networks like Google Display Network, is required.
- Data Analytics: Candidates should demonstrate expertise in data analytics to derive actionable insights and inform decision-making processes.
- Excel Proficiency: Proficiency in Excel is essential for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Track Record: Candidates should have a proven track record in conducting keyword research to optimize campaign performance and implementing A/B testing methodologies to refine advertising strategies.
- Financial Accountability: Strong P&L accountability is required to manage ROI, budgeting, forecasting, and go-forward decisions.
- Google Ads Experience: Extensive experience with Google Ads, including search, display, shopping, and video campaigns, is required.
- Analytics Tools Proficiency: Proficiency in Google Analytics and other analytics tools to measure and analyze campaign performance is necessary.
- Skills: Candidates should have a strong understanding of keyword research, bidding strategies, and ad copy creation, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Intellectual Aptitude: Candidates should possess strong intellectual aptitude and curiosity.
- Attitude and Organization: A positive attitude, being well-organized, detail-oriented, and having the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-centric team environment are essential.
