SUMMARY

A Team Leader is responsible for overseeing teams of employees and motivating them to complete their job duties effectively. Their duties include training new employees and providing Team Members with daily objectives, developing, and implementing systems to motivate employee productivity, and communicating with upper management to determine the best methods for meeting business goals. Team Leaders monitor team members’ participation to ensure everyone has proper training and provide any additional training if needed. They can have a wide variety of responsibilities outside of their mentorship role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following but not limited to other duties as assigned.

· Develop team strengths and improve weaknesses.

· The ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics.

· Coach team members.

· Advanced knowledge in common office applications and word processing software

· Develop a strategy that the team members can use to better reach a project’s goal.

· Determine the completion timeline and monitor progress to keep the project on track and on schedule.

· Manage the flow of day-to-day operations.

· Create and distribute reports to update the company on the team’s progress.

· Ensure material delivered to appropriate workstation.

· Explanation of work order requirements and specifications to the operator.

· Communicate with IT to advise shop floor program problems.

· Communicate with Shift Manager regarding machine and production problems.

· Layout definition, implementation, maintain accurate transactions physical and SAP.

· Manage the SAP WM efficiently daily.

· Complying with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.

· Focus in controlling and minimizing all related costs with particular focus on labor efficiency and total workforce productivity.

· Setting up layout and ensure efficient space utilization.

· Ensure QA, Environmental and safety processes, and practices are maintained, and continuous improvement initiatives are ongoing.

· Ensure compliance with relevant OSHA&E requirements and environmental standards maintaining a safety environment.

· Ensures products are loaded and stored safely and properly, using forklift when appropriate.

· Ensures data is entered / posted in SAP as appropriate.

· Trains staff and monitors their performance and progress, addressing performance issues timely should they arise.

· Work Closely with the BU Warehouse Manager in planning and strategizing.

· Making sure the shipping and assembly team is on top of all paperwork and computer transactions, helping them as necessary to stay current.

· Ensure timely and smooth cooperation with accounting on the day-to-day transactions.

· Participate in management meetings.

· Implementing and following through with company policies and procedures.

· Approve temp and company payroll hours.

· Working with Cost Accounting and BU Warehouse Manager on costing, time studies and cost-saving opportunities

· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or equivalent experience in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred or related field experience.

· Ability to develop and mentor others., Proven working experience of 3-5 years.

· Experience with SAP WM systems.

· Good computer skills

· Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking skills

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Team Leaders should be able to boost team performance and employee retention rates through strong communication and empathy skills, need excellent verbal communication skills to speak with employees as well as strong written, and organizational skills, the ability to delegate, Integrity, confident work ethic. SAFETY/PPE REQUIREMENTS

Must complete training as specified by the Company. Safety glasses must be worn at all times in all manufacturing, production, and factory areas. Hearing and vision protection, or other PPE, may be required when performing certain job functions.
