The Quarry Golf Club is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Rescources (HRD) to join our team. The HRD will be responsible for assisting the club’s management staff with the recruitment, selection and orientation of new staff members. Administer payroll records and assure that all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour, worker’s compensation and related laws are consistently complied with. Implement data collection systems and process and record salary/wage payments. Manage the club’s health, retirement and other benefits programs, manage the Clubs H2B visa program. Conduct labor analyses, staff planning, and other studies as requested.

The Quarry Golf Club is a prestigious golf club located in beautiful Naples, Florida. We are committed to providing exceptional service and unforgettable experiences to our members and guests. Our dedicated team strives to maintain the highest standards of excellence in all aspects of our operations. The Club was established in 2006 by Pulte Homes, known for their luxury residential developments. The Club transitioned to the Membership in 2016 and underwent a substantial Clubhouse renovation that was completed in 2022.
The amenities include an 18-hole golf course, one dining room, one mixed, and social spaces for events and gatherings. Titleist performance designed fitness room, Locker Rooms, and fully equipped Golf Shop.
The Golf Course was designed by the world-renowned architectural team of Dr. Michael Hurdzan and Dana Fry in 2007. Offering an exceptional golf experience with spectacular views, this Par 72 championship course is a true test for golfers of all levels. The Quarry played host to the PGA Champions Tour ACE Group Classic in 2010 and 2011. Golf Hall of Famers Fred Couples and Bernhard Langer captured the Champions Trophy.

Position Overview:

Director of Human Resources Key Responsibilities:

1. Manages the club’s personnel program; assists in the development/implementation of applicable policies and procedures; processes various labor staffing reports; coordinates software applications to generate required information

2. Develops/places recruitment ads; plans recruitment strategies; screens applicants and makes hiring recommendations

3. Conducts/reviews wage and benefit surveys; proposes employee benefits enhancements to the General Manager

4. Coordinates the development and publication of the employee newsletter

5. Coordinates all employee record keeping functions

6. Continually reviews and assists in updating the employee handbook and personnel-related policies; assists in the management of the club’s progressive discipline program

7. Manages the club’s group insurance, unemployment and related benefits programs; communicates benefits information to staff

8. Undertakes special projects relating to job description/specification updates, performance appraisal improvements, wage/salary comparison surveys, long range staff planning, etc.

9. Keeps current with ever-changing laws and regulations relating to employees; assures compliance with these laws and regulations

10. Advises line managers about discipline/discharge and related matters

11. Provides general property orientation for new employees; assists in the development/implementation of within-department orientation and training programs

12. Manages the club’s educational and referral programs for alcohol and substance abuse

13. Assists department heads in planning professional development and training programs for employees

14. Develops forecasts of short-and long-term staffing needs

15. Coordinates transfer, promotion and layoff strategies within the club

16. Benchmarks the clubs’ employee recruitment and selection processes with others in the industry and explores new strategies as appropriate

17. Develops and maintains a library of training resources specifically designed for each position

18. Establishes employee motivation and retention programs

19. Organizes employee activities such as the Holiday Party and other outings as appropriate

20. Organizes employee recognition functions

21. Oversees all work-related injury claims to ensure integrity, on-going case management and reporting compliance

22. Performs special projects as assigned by the General Manager

Key characteristics

Strategic Planning: HR directors develop and execute HR strategies aligned with the company’s goals.
Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills are essential. HR directors motivate, counsel, and guide HR staff and other managers.
Employee Relations: HR directors foster positive relationships among employees, resolve conflicts, and promote a healthy work environment.
Onboarding and Offboarding: They handle new employee onboarding, negotiate employment agreements, and manage employee terminations.
Knowledge of Labor Laws: HR directors ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Skills: HR director needs expertise in the areas of performance management, HRIS, payroll processing, and succession planning.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, at least 2 years at the Director level.
Strong knowledge of H2B visa process
Experience in the hospitality or club industry preferred.
Proficiency in Certipay is prefered
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Take a proactive approach to data-driven analysis to assist and advise GM/COO and Department Heads.
Embraces implementations of new technologies and programs.
