GWCCA seeks a Brick Mason to assist in the installation and finishing of concrete, tile, block and pavers systems. The position requires knowledge, skills and abilities, which allow for the completion of all masonry tasks with a minimum of supervision. The Brick Mason shall be responsible for the completion of masonry type work to include, but not be limited to, installation, finishing and repair within the facilities and have a general knowledge of commercial carpentry and general trade related work. This position requires ability and skill levels to perform carpentry tasks with a minimum of direction. Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, general building maintenance of rough and finish carpentry, door hardware, utilization of computerized work order system, executing work plans, performing all facets of carpentry work and general maintenance tasks. Completion of day-to-day event requests, and such other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily maintenance and repairs of all masonry type work such as concrete, tile, block- walls and floors and systems, and other types of masonry related items and performance of general carpentry and other related tasks as required to maintain our facilities in the highest level of maintenance as achievable.

Assist external service venders and service contractors as required
- Monitor and secure the safekeeping of equipment and supplies as assigned.

Order and maintain materials and equipment as required for performance of assigned duties.

Position requires an irregular work schedule, and the performance of work assignments that may not be directly related to job specifications.

Maintain a professional image that represents the philosophy of the Georgia World Congress Center Authority with emphasis on providing to exhibitors and clients with the highest level of customer service deemed possible

Track all work by use of computerized work order system.

Notify appropriate personnel of equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.

Ensure adherence to all policies/procedures and safety and health regulations.

Perform such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
-
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), and completion of an apprenticeship program from a trade/technical school preferred.
- Minimum four (4) years experience as a Brick mason for commercial construction contractor, or similar type background. Education may serve as substitute for experience on basis of two (2) years education for one (1) year of experience.
- Prefer one (1) year experience as a carpenter for a multi-purpose facility that performs the function of servicing major exhibition, entertainment or meeting oriented events.
