The Territory Sales Manager will work remotely, and report to the Senior Director of Sales Strategy. The key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Understand, interpret, and utilize distributor data to develop customer selling strategies
· Leverage sales data to inform their sales performance, identify where products are selling/not selling, and make necessary modifications to call plans and customer sales/promotional strategies
· Develop annual account plans based on their allocated sales budget and the overall Independent Channel sales strategy.
· Identify and win new accounts, developing relationships, and influencing customers through presentations that highlight the benefits of Canidae products to consumers and store sales
· Develop weekly call plans to organize weekly, monthly, quarterly approach with each top tier customer/store, drive sales activity and meet their monthly sales quotas, leveraging tools provide such as Repsly for account planning and execution tracking
· Manage trade spend budget and allocate to the most productive and highest potential accounts
· Work with distributors to develop gap closure programs with customers
· Utilize sales tools provided including Repsly, CRF process, DCE suggested order templates and any new tools developed
· Manage and expand business in existing store accounts by meeting with and understanding customer (and consumer trends) needs, educating/training customers on new or appropriate product lines, and selling customers on marketing/promotional initiatives (social media and print media promotions/campaigns and displays).
· Represent Canidae and its products in store and at events, including occasional nights and weekends.
· Perform store check-ins with top tier accounts to communicate with customers, train on Canidae’s products, assist with in store presentation, understand the local market and their specific needs
· Work with distribution representatives and suppliers
· Where appropriate, TSRs act as business advisors to their customers, helping them make decisions that will grow their business.
· Interact frequently with Regional Sales Manager, fellow TSMs, and marketing colleagues to share best practices and solutions that can impact sales in their territories.
· Represent Canidae in a professional manner at all times
· Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent
· At least 5-7 years of general sales and/or field sales experience
· Must possess a valid driver’s licenses and clean driving record
· Must be willing to submit a background check and pre-employment drug screening
· Must be eligible to work in the US
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Proven ability to implement sales strategies
· Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
· Familiar with CRM tools and MS office Suite
· Working knowledge and application of excel
· Strong drive and results orientation with the ability to achieve key performance indicators
· Demonstrated ability and past success in the development of customer relationships
· Excellent account planning skills
· Ability to interpret data and draw conclusions to develop a selling strategy
· Bachelor's degree is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
· Must be able to relay accurate information via multiple communication vehicles including verbal and written mechanisms
· Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
· Ability to operate a computer and other office technology
· Ability to observe details at close range
· Travel up to 2 days a week
· Occasionally Ascend/descend stairs
