About The Role

Our Editorial team primarily focus on private equity, private real estate, private debt, infrastructure, and venture capital investing. As these asset classes continue to grow in scale and significance – for investors, fund managers, and service providers globally – PEI is positioned to provide unparalleled business knowledge, intelligence, and networking opportunities to this fast-growing finance sector.

We at PEI Group are looking for several experienced B2B Reporter's to join our welcoming, diverse, and growing team based in New York. The reporter is a regular contributor of news and analysis to their respective product/products. They consult with their editor and other senior editorial staff to establish the best angle and format to pursue.

Journalism

A reporter is expected to:

Develop and maintain a network of relevant market sources.
Develop an understanding of the issues our audience faces.
Gather and pitch story leads of potential value to our audience.
Think laterally about the most appropriate format (e.g. written vs podcast vs roundtable)
Include proprietary information in all stories.
Meet with sources and attend conferences.
Produce clean, well-structured copy ready for edit, with all necessary “page furniture”.
Ensure all content is accurate and fact-checked, and journalistic process has been correctly followed.
Participate in the editorial production process
Communicate regularly and openly with team and meet deadlines.
Understand and adhere to journalistic ethics and consult immediately with editors on any potential conflicts or errors.
Contribute to newsletters, and over time, write newsletters.
Participate in podcasts and conferences.
Participate as an active team member in meetings and projects.

Teamwork

The reporter is expected to:

Work effectively as part of a team, taking appropriate responsibility for completion of group tasks.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across PEI Group’s editorial team, sharing insight and contacts where appropriate.

About You

Requirements

Although we are keeping direct experience and knowledge requirements to a minimum, we do need you to demonstrate your capabilities in relation to the points listed under essential requirements in the person specification. You should be prepared to discuss illustrations on how your competencies have helped you to achieve positive results.

Qualification & Experience

Excellent reporting and fact-checking skills required.
Excellent writing and communication skills required.
Experience as a reporter and writer required (minimum 1-2 years).
Experience in B2B journalism and/or financial journalism preferred.
Knowledge of private equity, financial services, M&A and related topics preferred.

Personal Attributes

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Organised and approachable – we’re looking for someone who’s friendly and pleasant to work with but can still balance priorities when it comes to deadlines and producing high quality content.
