Senior Web Applications Developer
BYU's Office of Digital Humanities is hiring an experienced and reliable senior web developer to source/develop and maintain software in support of the students, faculty, and administrators in the College of Humanities. This person will be responsible for the development and upkeep of web apps used in faculty research, for classroom teaching, and college business. This includes deploying and managing code at several stages, development, staging, and production, and responding to specific and evolving needs. They also will manage and mentor a team of energetic student developers, reviewing their code, and managing Git repositories.
What you'll do in this position:

Support clients including researchers/instructors within the College of Humanities, the College of Humanities Dean's Office, Liberal Arts Advisement and Careers, and the Humanities Digital Media and Communications (DMaC) team.

Create and maintain web applications and support existing CMS-based sites for the Office of Digital Humanities (ODH).

Work with colleagues in ODH to create an application development strategy, hosting requirements, application deployment, code versioning and maintenance, and use of university data for academic applications.

Manage and track web projects including code reviews, Git management, dependency oversight, DevOps, and reporting to ODH project managers.

Train and supervise student developers in web application programming.
What qualifies you for this role:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or other relevant field with one year experience developing web applications and managing websites; or an equivalent combination of education and of directly related (and demonstrable) work experience in web application development using advanced technologies and practices.
