THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION THAT REQUIRES A HIGH ENERGY, SELF MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL WITH THE ABILITY TO BE PHYSICALLY ACTIVE FOR LONG DURATIONS. ALSO, YOU MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. YOU WILL PRIMARILY PROVIDE CARE FOR BOTH CATS AND DOGS WHILE THEIR OWNERS ARE AWAY. THIS POSITION INVOLVES PLAYING WITH PETS, FEEDING PETS, WALKING DOGS, CLEANING UP AFTER PETS, SCOOPING LITTER BOXES, ADMINISTERING MEDICATION AS PER THE OWNERS’ INSTRUCTIONS, PHOTOGRAPHING PETS, & CLIENT CORRESPONDENCE. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH INTO A FULL TIME MANAGEMENT/ADMINISTRATIVE POSTION.

THE INCUMBENT MUST BE RELIABLE AND ENSURE THE SAFETY AND SECURITY OF THE ANIMALS AND CLIENT’S HOME AND PROPERTY. MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH ALL ASPECTS OF ANIMAL CARE AND BEHAVIOR AND HAVE THE ABILITY AND WILLINGNESS TO WORK MORNINGS, EVENINGS, HOLIDAYS, AND WEEKENDS. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
KEY JOB ELEMENTS
● Must be able to demonstrate that you love pets and are comfortable around them
● Must be able to provide professional & compassionate care for pets
● Must provide own reliable transportation
● Must own a smartphone and be willing to use it to track services and send updates to clients via our mobile app, and to respond to client emails and text quickly while working
● Must practice time management & keep to the schedule you are provided
● Must safely travel across town to the homes of clients
● Must show up on-time to client’s home; may have keys/FOB, utilize lock boxes or must use alarm systems that are in various homes
● Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal-with office & clients
● Must professionally represent K-9 KATS and treat clients respectfully at all times

Job Requirements:

● 2+ years caring for animals; Vet technician and/or animal rescue experience preferred
● You must have a working smartphone and be able to understand and communicate through our mobile app, text or email
● Have a valid driver’s license
● Must be able to work weekends, split shifts, and holidays
● Live within reasonable distance of the service area
● Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
● Experience with and compassion for animals
● Comfortable around all types of animals
● Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously
● Be able to pass a background check
